Chevron tang spread disease?

I added a chevron tang about 2 weeks ago, and all my fish were fine. As time went on I noticed my tang scratching his gills on the sand, and now there is somekind of infection under his gill on the right side. Now a few of my other fish are scratching as well but not as bad. Parameters are a go and all are eating well. thanks

I think if it's a healthy one should be ok, unless its something hidden which mine apparently had. It must still be getting used to my tank. I don't qt because I've never had a problem, but this is.

Everytime to add anything wet (fish, corals, snails, crabs, liverock, etc.) you run the risk of importing something bad at the same time. That is why it is so important to quarantine.
