I found out about this place right after I moved away so I haven't personally been there, but I heard Old Town Aquarium is decent.

Aquatica in Tinley Park is great. Awesome selection every time I've been there. Owner's a real enthusiast, staff is great, they're willing to frag just about anything they have in stock.

Old Town is nice but way overpriced. People are paying for them to be located in Old Town where the rent is astronomical. Aquatica is in Tinley Park off of 167th and Oak Park Ave. By far one of the best stores to do business with. The staff is most excellent and knowlegable. The prices are very good.

I just came back from Chicago and stopped by http://livingseaaquarium.com/, It was quite a place with immaculate tanks, not a lot of equipment but the livestock display was great and well taken care of. Not like anything around here.
