Chili coral

I bought a chili coral last night and the rock it was attached to broke on the way home. now the chili coral only has a very small peice of rock attached to it and i was having a hard time placing it in the tank. I propped it up on a rock and noticed that it slowly bent over on the rock. I looked up some info on chili corals and found out they like to be hung upside down in a cave and that they will bend to be upside down. I was wondering how I attach it to the bottom of a over hang in my tank so it will be upside down. I dont know if its safe to use super glue and rubber banding it would be impossible since the rock is flat. Any suggestions?

Try using non-toxic putty if u want to hang it upside down, but its not really necessary, it is normal for them to slouch on the rocks like what your's is doing.

What do you mean? If I hang it I will still be able to feed it.

Mine is upright in the tank. It's like many other corals. It stands up tall sometimes and slouches over sometimes. So far it's been a nice addition to the tank. I would say it's been in there about a month.

The chili coral, also Known as the Strawberry Coral, Nephthyigorgia sp are some of the only corals available to the trade in a bright red color. These are non photosynthetic, which means they do not require light So, do not place directly under bright lights, place in lower areas of the tank or in caves, out of the direct path of light, preferably in shaded areas. Generally easy to care for, it fares best under medium to high water current, does best with alternating/pulsating/changing water movement. Does best with supplemental feeding with foods such as liquid phytoplankton, but don't over do it.
