Chiller Advice

Hello,
I am thinking about adding a chiller to my setup but I have no idea about what to look for. I have a 90gal tank with a 30gal sump. I probably have around 100 gallons total of water. Can someone recommend a chiller or give advice as to what brands or size I should consider? Thanks for your help.

I have a similar setup as yours and use a 1/5 HP JBJ Artica. I've had it for nearly 3 years and is quiet and serves me well.

I have a 1/3 HP Aqualogic drop in chiller. Very quiet, but it is in the same room as the tank. It heat up the room. I set up an exhaust fan to send the heat from the chiller to outside the house. This and a room A/C make it comfortable. I would recommend an in-line type and remote locate the chiller in another room, like a garage or attic, etc. This is my second Aqualogic chiller.

It depends on your lighting and how much you are trying to cool your tank by. I have a 90 w/ mh lighting that is stuffed in a hood. I needed to cool it by 10 degrees or so. I chose the Current Prime Tower 1/3 hp unit. I could have easily used the 1/4 hp unit, but the larger one was only a few bucks more. The way I see it the larger unit will use less energy to cool the water faster. My chiller was just a little over $500. hth
