Chiller brianteasers!

I'm about to buy a Pacific Coast 1/10 hp chiller for my 60 gallon tank. This chiller requires a min 500gph/max 800gph pump.

The chiller will be about 8 feet away from the aquarium (in the garage). The chiller could be at any height in the garage. The pump could be under the tank or in the garage (garage preferred).

Brainteaser #1
When selecting the size of the pump, how do I account for the approximately 24 feet (8' to the garage + 4' from top of tank to the floor x 2 for the round trip) of 1/2" PVC?

How can I make my Aquacontroller control both the pump and the chiller considering they will be in the garage on a different circuit? Will the X-10 module control devices even if they are on different circuits?

As far as the pump consideration there is a calculation chart for pumps for feet here on RC's home page I'm sure you'd want to go with a pressure rated pump like a iwaksi or even a dolphin something that can handle the feet lenght from the wate rsource to the chiller

Secondly, the AQ as long as the module (the part you plug your device into) is connected to your device (your pump) then your programming will be something like this

If temp = 80 then <a1 turn on
if <a1 turn on then chiller on
etc... Check the neptune booklet they should have examples for you
