chiller question

hello i picked up a chiller from a fellow reefer that needed some work the freon was low so i topped it off and replaced the controller it works now but i only get a 1 to 2 deg drop from the inlet to the outlet does that sound right. i am unsure of the brand there is no info on it but it took 3 hrs to drop my temp from 83 to 80 in 300g total system volume thanks for any help

I suggest that you buy some stock in the electric company.

at about 7 amps i figured that lol remote sump in my garage isnt helping matters any

i guess a better question is what is the temp drop that most of you that run a chiller see from the inlet to outlet

depends on the flow versus the hp mine id running 1200 gph maxed out 1/2 hp and getting about 1 degree diff. keeps my tank in line but if temp gets high it fights like hell to get it back down i added a cold water heat exchanger in the sump i can run on real hot days or whn it gets hard to keep the tank temp stable
