Hello guys i currently have a 180 gallon aquarium and i just did a inwall build.. I have Metal Halide. I lower the amout of time Metal Halide are on .. now i use MH for only 3 hours. But would like to go back and use it for the 5 hours i used. ... for a 180 gallon which chiller is enough for a 180 gallon aquarium ... ...
..
when i use my metal halide for the 5 hours temps raise to 82-83 max can a 1/4 ACTIVEAQUA WATER CHILLER do the trick for me any info will help...

note that i added a couple of fans that's why my temp don't rise 82-83 but i would like to keep it at 78 -79 for my corals... thank you in advance.

i keep my ac at 72 all day but i open a duct to the enclosed aquarium, but that little central ac duct is not working a lot... so maybe a 1/2hp will do the job for me i keep it now with Metal Halides for 3 hours at 80F max. i have no chiller so maybe the 1/2hp with metal for 5 or 6 hours i will accomplish my 78 to 79.... thank you for the input in your experience.. do you know which brand of chiller to get that will not open a hole in my pocket ?

Ryann- i have a 200...no chiller. i have 2 fans at either end of canopy both blowing out, and one on top of canopy also blowing out.. They turn on when temp is 76. I keep the house at 71, 24/7.

my temp ranges from 76-80 (80 only for 1-2 hours). MH 250W x 2, for 7 hours.

Thank you for the opinions. I just enclosed the aquarium on my wall and the heating problems started since i close everything so i added a lot of fans and that helped me but still 5 hours of MH temp goes to 81F that's only if i let me heater at 77F. Otherwise when metals are not on temp drop to 74F so i need a heater and a chiller now lol. i will give it a try with a friends 3/4hp with my 180 gallons to see how it does and from there i will find a deal on the way for a chiller they are so expensive
