Chiller recommendation

As my tank is cycling I am noticing the water temp is up to 84 degrees with no lights on. This is ok for the cycling but when it finishes I will need to cool that temp down a bit. Any recommendations on a semi-quiet, reliable 1/10~1/13 chiller for a 29g biocube?

Wow, don't think I have ever seen a biocube need a chiller. One little return pump, maybe an additional little powerhead, and stock lights. Shouldn't be that hot.

Two thoughts... What is the temperature of the room that the tank is in, and, is your thermometer correct?

The room runs in the 77-79 range. Tank does have a lid, no lights as of now since I am still cycling. I have the Aqualife 115 in chamber 1 and InTank media basket and fuge in 2 and the cobalt 1200 as a return. I have a std glass thermo and a digi and both are at 84-ish.

Ok, I think I see where I can drop it a few degrees. I have a modified rear tank lid from dburt520 that has 3 dc fans mounted over chamber 2. I am going to wire this up today and see if I can drop the temp a few degrees. I think he used this same lid to drop his cube in temp, totally spaced that I had it.

Great way to cool the tank, but stay aware of the evaporation this causes. Any small change in water chemistry seems amplified due to the smaller water volume. Do you have an ATO? JP

Any recommendations on a unit or a DIY? When I run the fan-hood mod I am seeing a lot of evap. An ato is in my near future.

I use the avast pressure sensor connected to my apex breakout box to cycle power to a BRS ATO dosing pump. Works like a champ, although not the cheapest setup. Best addition to my tank. JP
