Chiller repair

Refrigerators, air conditioners, ice makers and aquarium chillers are all the same basic thing. If someone is qualified to fix one, I see no reason they couldn't fix them all.
I think that if you search for a specialist, you'll pay for an aquarium chiller specialist (we get beat up in this hobby all the time).
It'll be cheaper if you take it to them, but it would be awful convenient to leave it in place and have someone make a house call......

Anyone know of a local repair place for chillers?

What exactly are the symptoms of your chiller? My chiller is plugged into and is controlled by a switched outlet on my apex. My symptom was that when it was switched on by the apex, the unit turned on but wasn't chilling the water, so I dismantled the chiller, bypassed the onboard control unit, and now the chiller is controlled solely by the apex and it works. So now my chiller is only a cooling unit without the onboard control because it was removed. It can only work with a controller now but at least it works. Hope this helps.

Maybe is a bad board, most people don't repair these chiller as there is no service value or not serviceable.. depends on the one you have JBJ etc... If it is leaking freon or bad compressor, probably best to get a new unit. If it is a controller board, call the company and see if you can get a replacement board and swap it.

That's my point, if it's the controller board, yes you can replace it, but I'd just bypass it cause the apex can control it.
