Chiller setup question

OK,

I'm going to set up my chiller this weeked and I have a few questions...

Tank info: 60 gallon 48x15x18, 6x6 overflow box, Quiet One 4000(1017 gph) for main return pump.

Can the overflow in the display tank handle the extra 250 gallons per hour if I route the chillers return into the display tank? Give me all the tips you can because this is my first time setting up a chiller. I need all the help I can get. TIA.

Scott

probably you could also route your overflow to the inout of the chiller and have it gravity fed. I have one of my pipes coming from my overflow going to the chiller then to the sump.

Go from the sump and return to the main tank is how it should go.
Or to and from the sump. Inlet from sump to the chiller, return from chiller to the return pump to your main tank.

How do you like your quiet one for a return pump??????

The Quiet one is not bad. I havent cleaned it in over a year and its still going strong.

So do you think there is any concern with the overflow not being able to handle the extra flow?

I think it would be ok. It just wouldn't be my first choice. I'm setting up my sump with a pair of 1/2" bulkheads for a chiller in the future. But I think I'm going with a pair of Clip-On fans across the sump first and see how well that works. Already have one chiller on the big tank, I really don't want or need another chiller I hope. It will be a little difficult to gauge the flow thru the chiller that way. A pump with the right amount of GPH (flow-rate) would be better.
Thanks for the info on the pump.
