Chiller temp controller

look for a ranco temp controller. for used I would check ebay until you get the 50 meaninful posts and have been a member for 90 days to view the for sale threads here.

50 posts is actually easy to do, just ask questions about stuff with your tank or find posts about others that you can help in.

the ranco comes with a probe you put in the tank then you set the controller to turn on the chiller if the tank reaches a certain temp.

that is the one I have to control my fans if the temp gets to hot and a heater if the temp gets to cold. they also sell a single one for around 60.00 that you can control either a heater or chiller but not both.

the cord that comes with it how many pins are on it or will it plug right in to the chiller 6 or 8 pin i believe

the cord that comes with it is just a standard female outlet the same you would find in the wall outlets or the end of a extension cord. not sure what you mean by 6 or 8 pin.

Definitely a Ranco, they are extremely reliable and built well...originally designed for commercial appliances I believe

The cord that plugs into the chiller Should have 6-8 pins i cant remember
So when you buy the controller the probe comes with it now i just need to know if it will plug into the chiller

can you take a pic. of the plug your talking about?

a chiller should have a cord that you can plug into the wall.

The controller has to plug into the chiller right!!!!!!
Yes you plug the chiller into the wall
how would the controller run the chiller with out any cords linking them together?
I dont have a camara that is why i gave you the make and hp of the chiller.

ok still confused about the 6 or 8 pins your talking about sorry.

the way a ranco works is you plug the ranco into the wall and plug the chiller into the ranco using the plug you would use to plug it into the wall. set the temp on the controller and the controller will turn the chiller on or off depending on what you have the controller set for.

This is the picture of the chiller hook ups maybe this will help you

yeah don't use those pins.

like I said all you have to do is:
1. plug the ranco in the wall
2. set temp. on ranco
3. place probe in sump
4. plug chiller into the ranco

done
