When I was researching a chip, that was called a 'clamshell chip' which was deemed to be 'mostly okay' by experts because its not going to keep splitting/fragmenting down the tank.

But the majority of people said screw that not risking the tank. Its your call. I've got one in my 75 gallon that has not leaked before I had it, or since I got it.

Do you think windshield repair epoxy will fix it?

I've no idea. In terms of structural integrity, not really. In terms of cosmetic, probably? If I was worried enough to try a home fix on mine, I wouldn't trust it. I just left it alone.

Ya I picked up this. This stuff is really strong so if there is any structural issue which I hope not the is should bind to it

I'd be more concerned with who whacked the tank and with what.

Filling that little thing won't do anything but use up some glue.

Ur wasting ur time trying to fill n or repair that... better to just leave it b. I’ve seen a lot worse chips on tanks and they hold up just fine. Windshield repair is jus an attempt to stop cracks from further spreading. Does nothing for strength/integrity.

Wouldn't worry about it. My friend has a 180g with a much more defined chip in the edge of the glass like that. Some people will tell you why take the risk and just replace it. Really up to you...but again I probably wouldn't break down my tank for something like that.

Thanks just figured I would get advice before I decide. It would really suck to have to replace the tank

I would fill it with 2 part clear epoxy or a windshield repair kit. It may not be necessary but it will not hurt and it will smooth out the roughness of the edge chip.
