Makes sense , I am just going to get a new tank. I might just go acrylic, I rather deal with some scratches then the edges on glass chipping.Had the same thing happen when moving my 180. It was a tough decision to make, but decided to not risk it and get a new tank.
It could be fine, then again, it could well be that it's not fine, and if that's the case then the outcome is disastrous.
For me, I was setting the tank up for the long haul, several years or so in one spot. If you want my opinion, best to do it right to start, amortize the cost of the tank over several years.

I appreciate the info, these forums are great for getting help in this hobbyusually small, scallop-shell looking chips are OK, I had a 150 DD cube a while back and had some of those in the drain & return holes in the bottom. I used that tank and had it up for a couple of years before I sold it - and I told the guy that bought it from me they were there as well.
But - the first pic with the actual cracks in the glass - IMO - no way, I would replace this tank.
I agree, going to be fun to find a way to get rid of it. Hopefully I find someone who wants a DYI project and will take it off my hands. It is amazing how such small chips can ruin a whole tank. One huge negative in glass tanks for me100% would not risk it. Last thing you want to deal with is a leak and having a bunch of sand, rock and livestock.
If I grinded it out with a dremel, wouldn't the tank still be weakened?? Would this work, I have a dremelThe first pic you show, that is the one to worry about. If that was my tank, and I wanted to keep it, I'd take a dremel tool with a stone bit to grind out that entire crack. That is the kind that spreads. Better safe than sorry.
That would be a huge sump....72x24x24Turn it into a sump where the water level stays low and you would put much less pressure on the glass

True but I have a great new sump waiting to use from Geo's ReefCan a sump be too big???
The sump for my 60g frag tank is a 100g Rubbermaid stock tank. I should have gone larger.
