Chipped Tank (It's tempered glass)

I bought a used 120g and as I was cleaning it, I found a decent sized chip in one corner of the tank. It's about halfway up one side, right on the corner, and the chip is probably slightly smaller than a dime. The chipped piece of glass was still held in place by the silicone, and I superglued it back in place. Since this is tempered glass, is this going to weaken my tank? I don't want to fill it up with 120 gallons of water only to have the glass shatter and get water everywhere.

are you sure it is tempered?- most tanks are only tempered on the bottom.

My 90 has a couple of chips in the outside corner- and it's been fine for over 2 years.

Ah... that would explain it. It has a big sticker on the underside of the tank (visible from above) that says "DO NOT DRILL! TEMPERED GLASS", but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean the sides are tempered. I thought a chip like I described above would result in an instantaneous shattering of the glass.

My 90 sump (50 gal running) has a 5-6 inch chip 1/2" wide out of the top corner. No problem here. And yes if it was tempered you wouldn't have a chip but you would have a pile of sand!
