Most cities use chormaines now. Any pool test kit can tell if you have them in your water. The difference between Free Chlorine and Total chlorine is a good indicator of how much chloramine you have.
You can test from tap and then from RO to see how much your system removes.
I live in Coral Springs and added a chloramine blocker.
If you're going to make your own saltwater and have a big system you should consider purchasing a larger chloramine filter. Many of the small chloramine filter expire quickly (see brs videos)

BRS sells the 20" size but if you do internet search you can find the 10" size. Mine is rated to 25,000 gal and fits in a "big blue" 10 inch housing. It should last me for years.
