My star is around 6" + and has ate 5 of my fish so far. Not sure how he gets them but he is very good at it. Like I said he does it at a rate of 1 a month and it takes about 3 to 4 days on top of them to digest.
It took me awhile to figure out what was going on with my fish until one night I was up late and checked on the tank after a power flicker and bam caught him on top of 3.5" Naso that was healthy and swimming around 2 hours before.
And yes I am finding a new home for him. Do not let anyone tell you they are safe with your fish this thing is a true predator. I might be able to get a pic of him eating.
If you are keeping naso tangs and butterflies in a Red Sea Max, I suspect that the chocolate chip star is not the primary cause of the demise of these fish.
