I have an Acanthurus pyroferus (Chocolate Mimic Tang) for sale in the Birmingham area. This fish has been with me for slightly more than 2 years.

Here is a picture when I first setup the tank:

Here he is now (sorry for lack of quality - iPhone):

This tang is bulletproof. I have been very lackluster this past year with my system and he (or she?) has forgiven me with robust eating and growth.

$45 firm for a tank raised tang - which is how I like to buy my tangs.

How are these in a reef tank? i have a few anems, some leather coral and some mushrooms but plan on adding more in the future. I will be heading out of town tomorrow and will be back in about a week. If he is still available, I may be interested. I have one of my 90g set up and another 90g cycling now. So eventually, I will have another tank as a possible home.

Most tangs are ideal reef tank inhabitants. For a 90G, the one thing that I would probably consider would be the adult size when choosing a tang. For instance, nasos, sailfins (Z. desjardini and Z. veliferum), the hippo, and many Acanthurus tangs should be avoided due to their maximum size.

The mimics have to be among the smallest of the Acanthurus genus. Plus, their bristle-tooth dentition is such that they favor diatom algae - akin to the Ctenochatus tangs (Kole, Chevron, Tomini, etc). They cannot even rip through fleshy algae. I can assure you that he/she will never bother a coral or anemone, especially an anemone.

Here are a few pictures of my last mimic in a tank chock full of corals:
