We have a pair of true onyx percula clowns and are looking for the right anemone to host them. Any suggestions??

This is dependant upon your tank, flow, and lighting not so much about your fish. Impossible to make a recommendation with the information given.

Have a 55gal, 4 T-50 lights (2 white, 2 blue), a 600gph PH located in the center top of tank angled down. Hope this helps.

How long has this tank been setup? They are not the easiest animals to care for and mistakes can be costly. If your just looking to provide a "home" for them they will accept most anything that makes them comfortable sometimes it's mag float, thermometer, hair algae, star polyps..........

Anemone are delicate creatures that really require expert care. it seem that you have not reach this level of knowledge yet. I would advice you just keep the clowns. I would avoid anemones until you can raise coral, growing and doing well, in a stable tank. Clown fish will do just fine without an anemone.

Kduen, Its been up since the first of the year. We recieved a bunch of LR from my brother so things have cycled alittle faster than a true first time setup. We have our clowns, a purple fire fish & a spotted gobie. We also have a black cucumber, a purple tipped anenome, some mushrooms that have been w/ us since the initall start up. They are currently using a clay flower pot. Its alittle unsightly w/ the rest of the LR & others.

I would say that your current lighting and tank age will not support the sebae, carpets, or other anemones that host clowns.

+1 I would wait about six months for your tank to really stabalize and in the mean time you can research about all of the hosting nems and see which ones suit your lifestyle. If you have lots of free time to devote to a animal in your tank and you think you could provide a healty home for a Mag. then go for it. If you don't have so much time and skip a few W/C here and there then something like a bubble tip would probably be better. It really all depends on the stability of your tank, an understanding of the animal being kept and and your willingness to provide the best home for it.

Way back in the 1980's when I first got into salt water aquarium, clown fish and anemone was what I wanted. Tank raised Ocellaris and "Sebae anemone". Needless to say, the "sebae anemone" didn't stay alive very long. I just want to let you know I have been there and done that. Hope you not going to make the same mistake.
