Choices for a Cube

I have a 110 gallon euro-braced cube (roughly 30 x 30 x 30) with a 6" sand bed. The overflow is centered on the back wall and my two inlets are about 6' down from the top on either side of the back wall.

I would like to add a Tunze pump setup.

What would you recommend?

Thanks
Dave

What type of corals will you be intending to keep and a general idea of rock layout would help.

Hi Roger --

I plan to keep mostly softies and LPS.

I have the rock arranged in sort of a pyramid the center of the tank with lots of open areas/caves and shelves. It is about 15" tall with a base that is about 16" x 16". The top is flat.

I have this tank in my basement and the flow into the tank comes from my 180 gallon tank upstairs. I would guess that the flow into the tank is about 700+ gallons per hour. I also have a 150 gallon refugium and 150 gallon sump plumbed into this loop.

The problem in the cube is that there are a variety of dead spots because the flow coming down from the upstairs is not especially strong.

Thanks for your help.

Dave

I have virtually the same tank, however, mine is 6" shorter -30" X 30" X 24". I'm currently running a pair of 6000's w/ a multicontroller which is working out nicely, if a little on the pricey side of things. They don't seem to disturb things too much and the fishes "play" out is the currents.

I've ran 6080's and 6060's in this tank. The 6080's are/ were a little bit much in such a small tank housing LPS and softies. They worked well for my SPS' but the fishes didn't seem too impressed. The 6060's were alright, just thought the variable 6000's would be the ticket.

Any of these pumps work for my SPS tank, however, for other corals I'd think the 6060's or 6000's might be the way to go.

Just my thoughts.
