Christmas, and Pinkface Wrasse ?'s

Been Reefin'
Ok as most know I am setting up a new tank and planning some fish stock, and I had a few questions. I really like the pinkface and christmas wrass's, but everything I read says they are not reef-safe, eat snails, etc. Has anyone had any luck with them being good to the snails and not eating them? I am not big on shrimp and such so that isn't a problem, but I don't want them eating my snails.

Paul how do your christmas's behave? Just needing a little help!

Thanks to all,
Kyle

they are fine with snails....hermits may get munched though

---im selling two of mine if you are interested ?

I have a pink face. It has been a model citizen. It did jump in-and-out of an overflow.

I havent noticed mine jumping.
My reason for sale is that they are voracious eaters and my more timid fish are not getting any food.

yeah right....

Just cos you know they spawned. huh ?

Exactly. It is my dream to stock my 150g with nothing but tank bred and raised fish and inverts (bred by me of course). We all gotta do our little part to conserve the reefs. :D

If they spawn and you wanna get rid of the eggs or anything, I would take those too, lol. Once I get a proper kreisel built.

I've always kept christmas wrasses in my tanks. Only invert it ever ate was a staghorn crab. $1 crabs it leaves alone, $20 crab was lunch.
Pretty much all Halichoeres sp. wrasses are going to do good in a reef.

Not much difference from what I've seen. I've seen Halichoeres ornatissimus called both, but usually christmas. Not the greatest shippers. Probably one of our best sellers, but with one of the worst shipping survival rates. I wouldn't buy one unless it's been at the store for about a week. Couple of days should be safe though.

Mine was a model citizen too until I killed him with a nitrate spike. I didn't very much of him he spent most of his time in the caves in my tank.
