Christmas came early

Well not really, but today seemed like it. My neighbor, who knows I have saltwater tanks, stopped by last night to ask if I would be interested in a gold stripe maroon clown and a Talbots damsel. Knowing that both of these are territorial, they weren't going into the reef. I do have 20 long set up on the patio as a QT tank. I told him that I could take the fish until I can find someone that will take them. He then asked if I would be interested in the live rock, I told him sure, how much? Free! That too can go into the QT tank for now. So I went to his apartment, just down below mine, and his room mate was tearing down her 29 gallon Oceanic Bio Cube. I asked what they were going to do with it and they said that they were going to take it out to the dumpster. Waaaaiiittt a minute. I offered to take it. The room mate said that the tank had been neglected for several months, you can't even see in the tank. She wasn't kidding there was salt creep down the side of the tank and down the front and sides of the stand. I could see though that this was just superficial and that there was not any damage to the cabinetry. She said that the fans, for the lights, would probably need replaced. So this morning I went down and picked up the set up. Spent several hours of elbow grease and some vinegar and this thing looks almost as good as new. The fans do need replaced and the UV unit is shot, but hey they threw in all of their "fish stuff" as well. I am going to try to attach some before and after pictures.

Oh and is there anyone interested in a gold stripe maroon and a Talbots damsel?

There still is some minor clean up of algae off the back wall but nothing too serious. The rest of it cleaned up really well and there aren't any scratches.
Good day, even if it is raining out.

I'm partial to bio cubes since that was my first tank! I wish someone would give me a 29 lol. Love the AIO finished look.

Damn awsome day for you to go pick up your neighbors fish and a free biocube along the way. I started with a 14 gallon loved that tank it was responsible for all my damn tanks I have now lol

I've always liked the Bio Cubes, never had one though. I haven't really thought about what I am going to do with it yet. I may go with the softies and zooanthids. I will think about that over the next week or so.
Very fortunate for sure.
