Christmas in February

I think the RC's database burped during my other post.

Phishy Business rocks.

I finally got my belated Christmas order today and it was worth the wait :D
Since I know Paul will ask here are a couple pics while they were acclimating.

Nice Christmas present! Looks like a nice varied group. Did you select them individually or do one of the ric packs?

Neither ;)
My first order was wysiwyg ricordea. Unfortunately for some reason they got too cold in transit and I lost most of the shipment. And it was a VERY nice shipment too. :(
Serdar gave me credit for the loss and offered to hand pick some replacements if I'd like....and boy I do.
In addition to the rics he included 3 really uncommon Caribbean mushrooms.
fwiw I also had the option of waiting and reordering on my own.

I like those rics on the right with the orange.

My too! :lol2:

Amy,

What is your ricordia plan, lighting, flow, any feeding?
You expect ME to have a plan

So far 56 column tank with a 250 14k MH & 2 nano tunze 7045. When the stand is done add an iwaki 40...I think it's 700gph split into two returns with a coast to coast overflow.
At that point if extra flow is needed replace the iwaki with one of the little giants from the 220 (I have a mag 24 I could use on it).
Keep in mind I started out thinking this was going to be more SPS focused.
Thoughts?

I've fed ricordia cyclop-eeze in the past but haven't given it much thought yet. I remember they definitely showed a feeding response and don't really know why I quit except they were in an unskimmed tank.
Do you feed and do you feel it makes a difference?

Rics were my first love even before zoas.

I do not spot feed but I did notice that they seemed to do better with the higher fish load that required feeding, so I always fed the fish on the side in which I had the ricordia.

As you mentioned, they seem to respond to it. All of my ricordia also came from Phishy Business. I travel between MI and WV periodically so it was a semi regular stop on my way back, always a nice selection of ricordia and different LPS.

Hard for me to believe that Phishy Business or any Reef Shop for that matter is still in business. There were 2X more people on here posting a couple of years ago than today + CVRC combined. Many, many people have lost interest. I think it was common for people to cycle through every year or two, there just does not seem to be new interest/members these days.

So since I may not have fish until the final set up I may try a little spot feeding...we'll see.
I wish we could get to Columbus more often.

Sadly I agree. I spent part of last weekend scanning through old posts here so many old names and good discussions.
Do you every talk to Jason? I miss that little *%#$*%^ sometimes...at least he kept things interesting. :spin1:
