Beautiful fish I've wanted for some time, finally picked one up from the LFS.

I read that they like to burry themselves in the sand bed when they go to "sleep" being that my QT has no sand will this stress him out?

not sure what to do here and was wondering if anyone had any advice?

Put a flat glass bowl in the QT and fill it with sand. Give it 2"+ if you can. Nice fish.

should I get the sand from my DT? IDK if this is a good idea bc I'm in my 5th week of the tank being fishless bc of ich... should I grab some from the LFS?

Go get a small bag of fine sand from your LFS. As mentioned above, place it in a wide bowl or container so that you get a couple inches of depth. Also, get a bottle of Prazi Pro and treat your QT per the directions. A lot of these wrasses' have intestinal worms and the Prazi Pro will get rid of them.

Finally, and I don't want to sound like a dick, but it's probably a bad idea to buy a fish like this while you're treating for ich in your main tank. This is one fish that I would have added directly to the tank to minimize the stress of moving it. To be happy and healthy, this fish needs a diet of pods and other critters that it's only going to find in a tank with mature live rock. Keep a close eye on that fish and if it's failing get it into a mature tank.

Go ahead and fill that bowl up all the way. Give the fish as much depth as you can. Otherwise I think you're in business for now.
