Christmas Table Acropora (for lack of an actual name)

No idea what this one is. I've jokingly named it the Dave Lin Limited Edition Christmas Table Acropora...

Here's some characteristics as these are the best pictures I could take. It looks to be tabling (I fragged a large chunk off of it to give to a friend in case I lose this one when I transfer over to my big tank which is why there is white in the picture). It is a solid underside and the branches are fairly tightly packed together and none are long. They are fairly stocky but not like a humilis, but definitely thicker than something like a valida or nana. The polyps are very large and look very similar shape and size wise to the polyps of the Miyagi tort next to it.

It came in as an aquacultured colony, not sure from where, and was sold as a miscellaneous Acropora. It was fairly bleached out as the original coloration was yellowish tan and the body was mostly white. It went from this color to getting whiter on the body and then it started to brown out and then greened up. The polyps were the last thing to color up and they are red.

Currently, it's got metallic green branches, a body that is dark reddish, and polyps that are a brighter red. The red of the body is a bit obscured by the red of the polyps in the picture. I can't get a side picture as it's in a frag tray and my tank is not set up yet...

The colors are much better in person... it's currently under a 400W 20,000K Helios bulb run on a PFO HQI ballast with a Lumenarc III that has burned in for 2 months. There is no supplementation, so other than the colors being a bit dulled, they are fairly accurate. It's also shaded a bit by some screening.

you said it was solid underside,do you mean like a dinner plate with little fat branches on top?if so it could be an efflo or soli maybe.the colors in your pics remind me of my efflos in color.im probably wayyyyyyyyyyyyy off on the id

It's all fused together and the one branch that I fragged off was in the process of fusing with the other "one". A few people have said it's an A. sarmentosa but that has also been qualified by the "wait and see when it grows out a bit more" answer. It would make a fantastic efflo if that's what it is!

do you have a pic of the mother colony?it sounds like an efflo/soli when you say the base is fused together.
