Christmas tree feather duster Flow?

How can I figure out of my new christmas tree feather duster has the right amount of water flow? I have a 40 gallon tank with a 800GPH powerhead plus my canister filter return, shich is insignificant. Depending on what direction I point my powerhead I can have a variety of flow local to the feather duster. Should the crown be gently flowing or enough flow to kind of push the crown to the side? Any particular direction of flow perfered?

I attached a couple pictures below with differant flow. The spiral crowns are each about 1-1.5" in diameter. I like how it looks with lower flow because it's spiral looks better, but don't know if that's enough flow for him.

Thanks

It should be gently flowing like a tree in the wind.

Also this is a christmas tree worm:

Yours is a little pink feather duster.

Thanks! I'll keep his flow on the more gental side. Also, thanks for pointing out the proper name. I thought it was a christmas tree worm because of the spiral, as oposed to the hawian feather duster which has a single layer to their crown.

Any recomendations on feeding? I've been using "oyster feast" and target feeding with a syringe every other day. The LFS sugested feeding every 4 days or so, but I want to make sure it has plenty to eat and being that it's currently my only filter feeder I'm not worried about food costs. my small bottle will expire before I use it up.

Yours it what we call a Coco Worm. Very interesting to watch them. Used to stick my finger and poke them just to see them retract out...lol

Just gently release the food slightly upstream. They like their food to lightly drift into their crown.
Looks like crinkly crowns as opposed to a spiral.
