Yesterday when I was watching my tank I saw my christmas wrasse picking at the french angel's body, and the angel let him do that. He did that for a few times and swam away. Later in the day I saw that again. has anyone observe this before? this is not a cleaner wrasse but a regular christmas wrasse.

I've seen several fish not normally thought of as a cleaner display cleaning behavior. The French and other angels sometimes are known to clean large fish in the wild.

Many wrasses are cleaners even though not called that. Actually juvenile passer angels, among others, can be cleaners.

Although angels only act as cleaners while juveniles.

Actually I think I remember seeing adult passers cleaning something large, like a shark or similar, on TV once!

I watched my twinspot hogfish cleaning my male genicanthus angel. I'm surprised my cleaner wrasse allowed it

my juvi french and cortez clean my triggers, and my queen angel learned how to do it by watching the friench...

yeah i'm aware that juvenile passer/queen/french angels are cleaners, but what surprised me is that an adult non-cleaner wrasse could be cleaner too. i guess i just learned something new today! thanks guys!

Adult passers do engage in cleaning behavior, not sure about other adult angel species, I've seen video of adult passers cleaning manta rays in the Sea of Cortez.
