Ok guys and gals, I am going to try and get a frag swap together for CIMA and Central Illinois. I am in talks right now with a couple locations to host the event. I have some venders that are interested in the swap and I may even have a speaker lined up. What I need right now, is to see if any of you would be interested in participating in the swap. Just chime in and let me know if you think this is a good idea or not. Be painfully blunt if you need to be.

Great Brad. You have plenty of time before this swap takes place. I am going to try have this be a pretty nice event. It's not locked in stone yet, but I am in talks with what could be a really great surprise speaker.

I am planning, right now anyway, for June or maybe July. When I get everything ironed out i will give a specific date. I need to get a feel for how many might want to participate in this before I get too much planned. I don't want to get a bunch of things set up and have three people to come. If I don't get a very good response then I will just make it a small scale CIMA only swap.

Keep in mind everyone, this is not going to be going on next week. It is in the early stages right now. As far as the venders and speakers I am going to keep that under raps for now. When I get them committed 100% then I will let you all know that info. Right now I have some nice events in the planning, for example; 50/50 raffle, silent auctions, speaker or speakers? and more. I am going to try to make this a very nice event for the club and reefing public. I am in talks with the Interstate Center and GE Clubhouse here in Bloomington. Like I said this is in the early stages. I don't want to do a half cocked event for the club, I want it to be something you all will remember.

Im in the same boat as most of you. I would love to go, but I have little I could trade at this time. Given my tank is mostly SPS now, and most of them are still in the frag stage.

How far out are you thinking?

Well I was thinking about that and I came up with frag trading for more common items, however if you have something you want t osale then bring it too. The swap in Indiana has a mix of both I believe. I think I have a store that will donate some nice corals for the silent auction and 50/50, no it's not the Mad Reefer either :)

If this is going to be done in the name of CIMA, or as
affiliated with CIMA, you should probably run this thru
the Frag Swap Organization and Publicity Committee.

And by a remarkable coincidense, you just volunteered
to be Chairman of that committee. Also Co-chairman,
secretary, member-at-large, etc...

I had spoke with Henry before I ever thought of posting this. He told me good luck and he thought it was a good idea. Should I not have it be affiliated with CIMA and just have be a Central Illinois Frag Swap? My main goal was to do this for the club first and let the public have a chance to come if they would like to.

Hey when you guys get things ironed out PM me blooper. Some of us here in STL are always interested in a SLASH road trip. Would love to meet you guys hang out participate and chat.
