Cirrhilabrus jordani bully?

i agree that the female to male thing is a problem, but you cannot deny that they have one of the best colors in fairy wrasses and their courtship is amazing

Yeah, but to what end? I prefer the lubbocks that I had for 5 years and was a model citizen, and cost me 25$

I have kept trios of Flame wrasse in 2 separate tanks, neither made it past the 2 year mark. They all went through QT together and did well. Eventually they would become lethargic and would waste away or just disappear in the tank. I started with all females, and the female that eventually turned male would be aggressive to the other females and any other wrasse in the tank. I love their look, but I doubt I would try these again based upon cost. There are so many beautiful and cheap wrasse out there.

The flames I have had weren't that bad, probably because there was always a bigger wrasse in the tank. First flame had a larger red velvet wrasse with him. The 2 female flames I have now have a larger neon wrasse and yellow wrasse. One female once in a while chases the other female flame for a second to get her out the way. Had them for 4 months. The first flame for a year.

I agree with SDGuy, lubbocks are extremely good wrasses. I have one, he is always out, eats everything and doesn't bother anyone.

I had 5 females. One turned male within 2 months with 4 females. A year or two later 3 more females turned male. Within a few weeks one male was killed by the others. Now I have two males and two females it appears or 1 super male, 1 sub-male and two females

my past experience with FW had this "old and restless" effect as well.
i used to have 2 Super male FW in the past 4 years but never had them with females.
one got really restless for a couple of days and another went missing for a day and the next day i found him on the sand bed with a hole in the stomach. like a big chunk went missing
:(
