Cirrhilabrus lanceolatus

I saw another thread where the fish was not legit but no one answered the question of what is your experience with this fish. An LFS in the area has one, saw it today and it is one of my holy grail wrasses. It is quite expensive so I want to hear at least some experience with them.

Male or female?
Get it either way. If it is a female, you may get an opportunity to see the transition to a male. Very hardy and easy care. Not shy at all.

as you already have read in that thread that there is almost no experience to share regarding this fish, you are pretty much standing on luck factor...

kindly post the picture if you acquired it...:)

The store had the lancelotus, a tiny interrupta and a doctor seus fish so there was quite a few choices. I am still thinking it over. It was Elos aquastudio.

I was thinking it might be them, they had a nice selection last time I was there. The owner was really pushing that Gem tang in the back tank on me.

A Real Lanceolatus?

A Real Lanceolatus?

Is this the real lanceolatus and not the rosefascia? I can only imagine how much it is...

Yes it is real and yes we are talking in the low thousands. Hence the reason it is not in my tank already. LOL

The gem tang and clarion angel in the back are really nice, good sized and healthy.

I didn't make it there today, I forgot they are closed on Tuesday, but I will be there tomorrow and I might have a new wrasse or angel.

Can someone who is going to see the fish please get a picture? I keep seeing the Flashing shots but never its normal coloration. :D

Well I went and saw the fish. Three grand for each and 6 grand for the dr Seuss. No thanks although the interuptta was maybe a half to three quarters of an inch, it just isn't worth it considering two sold locally for 2400 each and were just a tad larger and another for 1500. I did get pics also of the angel. As for the wrasse I'm not sold on what they are listing it as.
