Any body here have information on this wrasse? All i know is that it is a very close relative to the scott's fairy wrasse and looks rather similar.

I obtained 6 juveniles (1-2 inches) today at around 3 USD each in my local LFS in Singapore. This is my 2nd time seeing this fish in LFS and i've never seen them in any other sizes except juveniles.

They swim in the typical wrasse haremic style and are actually quite nicely coloured as far as juvenile fairy wrasses go. here's a picture of some juveniles and adults in the wild.

Here are some pictures of mine. taken using flash and normal photography. pardon the bluryness, the glass is dirty and i'm a bad photographer. It's difficult to capture all of my 6 juveniles in 1 photo as some are hiding and they don't keep still.

Any info regarding this species will be greatly appreciated. Besides the name and appearance, there's nothing much else i know about it. Behaviour, size, etc? Anyone with info on them please share thank you.

i had a freind keep one it is closely realted to the scotts like you said...he told me that it was pretty aggressive like the scotts can be....other than that it was juts like keeping any other fairy..i had a lfs where i use to live that could get them in time to time...we ordered one but it died at the store...though it was a large male and large male fairys seem to not ship to well...they get to be very big though and are one of the largest fairys out there...those juv. look pretty though nice color for a juv.

thanks.

prolly won't grow as big as a roseafascia though.... had a pair of them but 1 did not make it. like you said, large wrasses don't ship well.

anyway i've given 3 away so i'm left with 3. they are very aggressive even at this size. keep chasing and flaring. will probably take a while for them to grow to a large size.

no not as big as roseafascia..which get huge for fairy wrasse..but they are not far behind..wish Hiroyuki Tanaka would see this he would have better input than i would...maybe send him an email could help alot more than i can...a trio of those would be cool to keep!!!!
