CL pump need help soon

Ok so im trying to finish this CL this weekend, since i can only work on the weekends. So here is what i have, I got a OR 6500 pulling the water up and over with 1 1/4 PVC and then going out to 1" into a super squirt.

Well my question is how can i make these fittings better at the flexi tube ends. I put tubing to limit the vibration of course. But as you can see in the picture, the small little grey piece is only 1/2" diameter. Which will probably kill my out flow right off the bat.

Now I asked AzDesertRat what to do, and this is what he said
The Super Squirt is standard 1" PVC so why not get a 1" male iron pipe x Barbed nipple and use a single piece of 1" inside diameter tubing?

Yet me being the nub I have no clue what all that means lol.

Anyways If anyone has any suggestions I could really use them. This is the last part of my aquarium to finish the plumbing.

Here are some pics

The clear is the inlet and the black is the outlet

Then use flexible tubing with an inside diamiter of 1" to fit over the barb fitting.

Go somewhere that carries irrigation supplies. Larger ones are used for irrigation. Ummmm, ask about fittings for Poly Pipe. Poly Pipe is black, comes in very large rolls and is anywhere from 1/2" to 2" diameter.

you could just take your pump there and tell them you want to go big with it - they will help you at the home depot - hahah - you can do it they can help

Lots of times local hardware stores like True Value and Ace have a better selection of fittings like that than the large chains do. I must have used all my straight ones but here is one in a 90 degree configuration, 1" male iron pipe thread x 1" barbed tubing.

iflipsidei,
How did the pump work out? I have a 6500 also that I am going to use for a c.l. But I can't get it to stop leaking where the "adapter" threads into the body for the output. The o-ring & flat washer look fine. I even tried teflon tape. May just be a bad pump, it happens.

If it is running, are you happy you went w/ it compared to an external only pump. It looks like I may have to exchange mine & just wondered.

I do have a internal 3500 for my return & have been very happy w/ it.

Chris
