CL pump recommendations

im debating adding a closed loop to our 180. what external pump would everyone recommend? i would like something that would flow over 2000gph, is durable, doesn't leak, quiet, energy efficient and inexpensive. i know im asking alot but there has to be something to fit this order.

i have thought about getting the largest Seio(or 2) but the 820' i have, have really turned me off to this idea and i cant get Tunze' untill my power ball checks start comming in:lol:

the sequence reeflo dart seems to be pretty higly regarded for similar applications.. i havent used one so i can't speak from experience, but here is the copy from the first google hit on reeflo dart:

The Sequence ReefFlo Dart is the quietest pump on the market. Ideal applications for this unit are aquariums 100-200 gallons. The Sequence Dart is great for close loop reef systems requiring high turnover. This unit is rated for moderately low head pressure and a mx flow rate of 3600 gph, shut off head of 12' and a maximum wattage of 160/1.4 amps.

Hey Chris!!

I hate debaiting. I was always a lazy fishermon,, I let the fish DE-BAIT my hook while i took a nap.

I just bought a quietone 4000 pump for the pond i keep threatening to dig. 1000 gph at 50 watts power consumption with a 10 foot shut off head preasure rating. I'm going to use it as a submersible for the pond, but it says it can be used inline too. Has anyone had experience running quietones inline without leaks? I guess theres an O-ring seal around the impeller endcap hose bib. but thats pretty darn efficient. now you have more than 10 feet from your basement sump to the top of your 180. so to use a basement pump to drive a CL would be a big waste of power and money to overcome the head pressure. I would suguest placing two of these at tank level, if there is a space on the end of the tank in the wall, and you could run two CL's, maybe even on reverse timers. Just to be safe from fitting leaks set them in a plastic tub or bucket with a drain back to the sump. with two at tank level, you could get 2000 gph flow for 100 watts. and cheap sale price now too. check this out?

is that possible? but hey, My hydro dynamics is fuzzy today. if its a closed loop, both ends are open to the same tank level and pressure, so i guess you could put the pumps in the basement and still get full flow. because there is equal head pressure on the suction and discharge line. so its just moving water. Is that right?

its just the pumping from an open basement sump that makes you fight the head pressure up to the tank and suffer big flow reduction.. what do you thimk?

yes thats a really nice pump but i dont think i can use it. i forgot to add that i already have a feed hole drilled in the tank but the hole is 1" and the dart has, depending on what site you look at a 1 1/2" or 2" feed.
