Clam and Glass

So my clam keeps on kicking it self off of the rock work and onto the sand. Now i can not keep the clam away from the front glass, i move him away from it and then he creeps up to it. Is this okay if part of his mantle rests on the glass??? If not what should i do.

One of my clams does the same thing. He has been fine but it is a pain to clean around him. I think they must get more light in that area.
