Thanks! The baby clams are around 1.5 inches and growing. The clams are not fed anything directly; however lighting and currents are quite strong due to the sps enviroment. Just need to give the babies enough time to attach themselves.

Well.. I think you should try to feed the baby clams phytoplankton, because clams smaller that 3" normally can't produce enough food by photosynthesis.

Have you read "Giant Clams" by Daniel Knop. A must read for anyone that is keeping clams. He talks about this in detail in his book.

Typhon... i have read that but havent been too concerned here because there is no question regarding growth. I suppose nitrates in the water column and regular feeding of the fish and corals have been enough in lieu of direct feeding. Its new to me too but since keeping this large tank there are new things prospering like i have never before experienced.

How's that emperor angel get along with the clams and the rest of the corals?

Jonny,
The emperor is rather fiesty...doesnt touch the clams or SPS but has taken a fancy for the meaty LPS'. I only have 2 pcs and have saved them by placing them just below the water line. The emperor is too scared to go to the top to feed and the seaswirls keep the area quite turbulent. As of yet has not touched the zoos or leather. The fish grows really fast in this tank as do all the other fish!
