Clam expelling white stuff

Hello,

I saw my newly clam (got it yesterday) expelling white stuff today, is that normal ?

Also I saw it few times "farting" and retracting a little? sorry for my english if its not correct.

Is that picture supposed to show this "white stuff"?
If so is it still doing it?
If so can you please turn your blue channel off/way down..
In the future please don't post ID pictures with such heavily blue/purple light.. It does not show colors properly and proper color rendition can be important for identification purposes..

It is fairly normal though for clams and other corals to expel a white mucus in response to stress,etc... That may be all you are seeing..

And yes they will open/close as needed..

No the picture was taken some minutes after the expelling. The white stuff was immediatly blow away by wavemaker.

It is not doing anymore since few hours.

It probably is. Although in clams it generally indicates, it is stressed.
