i bought a crocea yesterday (my first clam) and i LOVE it - i bought it ATTACHED to a live rock but he hopped of yesterday - as you can see in the picture his foot is still attached to the rock?

is this fine? is this a fine location for him in my tank? (12g 36" long nano tank 2t5ho39w lighting - powerhead on right side clam on left) - and what should i do about his foot? you can see it to the right of him

i will upload more pictures when i have them later tonight or tomorrow (this was taken on phone)

nothing to worry about. not his foot! it's the mass called byssal threads that attach. they can shed these. if you have relatively new bulbs, ok, but it might be better if he went higher. put him on the sand w a small rock 1/2 inch below him, wait a week. move him gradually up the rocks, high as he can go won't hurt. what other critters are in tank?

well the tank is 8" deep with the lights hanging about 8" above it - 2 T5HO39w bulbs running 6hrs a day - 12g nano - other inhabitants besides coral - skunk shrimp, blood shrimp, flame scallop, tons of snail/crabs yellow watchmen goby and a sixline wrasse

thikning about adding a pistol and a clown also

critters sound clam safe. since it's so shallow, height isn't that critical, but he can take all you can give him

6 hours is a bit little especially u hv only 2 t5 bulbs. try to increase it to 8-10 hours per day.
