Hi Everybody!

(Hi Dr.Nick!!)..LOL

Question to all of you Clamnoisseurs..

I recently went bare bottom.. and my clam moves everywhere..

Soooo.. could i glue it?? :D

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I don't think a clam's really going to "find" a spot. It's not really a motile creature like an anemone. I do agree that you definitely don't want to glue the clam. Perhaps you could use something like an oyster shell or other concave object which you could then glue to the bottom of the tank, onto a rock, etc.

What kind of clam is it? Some like sand unfortunately. OTher then that, you might have to just give it away or sell it.

do you have any live rock in there at all. Put the crocea in your live rock. Position it where you want it and maybe it will be happy there. I have 2 clams on BB. One is a deresa and i put him on a piece of ceremic tile turned over so that the surface is is rough. He has attached to it and never moves anymore. The other one is a gigas. he just rocks forward and backward and that is about it.

Put a dead clam shell underneith it like a cup to hold it. Put it on the bottom & waite for it to attach. If you have extreem SPS flow you might want to turn it down for a few days till the clam attaches to the shell. Once attached you can move the shell where you want the clam to stay & glue the shell.

I work in a fish shop and we got some clams from fishheads.. and im not dissing them but they put there clams on plugs and glued one side of the shell to the side of the plug. and in a few week all the clams had broke off the glue and the plugs...so i would not waste your time by glueing them
