the first pic is a Squamosa,on the bottem will be fine
the 2nd is a Crocea,it will do best up in the rock work

Croceas are the most light demanding of all the clam.they all need Ca/Alk to be high and stable. Both of those types are fairly hardy

Zoos with the light you have listed in your sig. I'd say your limited to the first pic of the squamosa, I'd only recommend a crocea with metal halide. I've tried them under PC and they always perished after about 4 to 6 months. I've learned a lot since then :D

Croceas need very insense lights! Metal halides a must! Squamosas are much more fogiving, but do get somaht large.

Squamosas, like most other clams actually prefer a hard substrate, not sand as many believe. Put it on a rock.

The only clams naturally found in sand, are, Hippos, Gigas, and on occasion Desasas.

After looking at the pics again, it looks like that corcea is on its way out already. Looks like the mantle is lossing mass, notice it does not even reach the bottom end of the opening of the shell. This is usually what happens when they are kept in suboptoinal conditions.

Avoid this clam!
