Clam ID

I have these clams and they appear to be reproducing since I have seen at least 1 on each rock and have seen a few baby ones. Just curious as to what they are so I can research more into them. Thanks

That's not a clam...it looks more like a chiton or something of that nature.

Sorry, I should get you side shots too then, it's definitely a bivalve. If you look at the very left side of the clam/mussel, you'll see the joint. I have a 2 incher in one of my rocks, and a few 1 inch ones, this just happened to be a 1/2"er that moved after I freshwater dipped the rock.

definately not a chiton--seems to be shaped like some kind of mussel

I have them as well and yep they reproduce no idea what they are though.

Oh well, I guess when they spawn it's more food for the corals...yay.
