Went to my LFS and they had this fantastic beauty! However no one knew what type of clam it is. I have a 70w Sunpod . Any info for this clam would be helpful ex, care level, lighting anything at all.

Nice looking little squamosa, are the spots blue or green its hard to tell from the pic's. It looks very similar to my new squammie, but I can't get good pic's to save my soul. The problem is it will outgrow your 12 g tank in like 2 months JK they do grow fast though and you will probably have to put it in a larger tank in year or two. If you don't want to upgrade to a larger tank, don't get discouraged about the clams growth rate. When it does get larger you will be able to sell it for a very good price"especially if the spots are blue". Squamosa't are one of the easyer clams to care for and your lighting should be fine for it. Keep you cal alk and mag in check and you should be fine.

The clam I guess, is green I don't see any blue. Thank you so much for your insight. I trade Xenia to lfs and get store credit. If you notice the xenia wall in the back is not for show. It drives me crazy but it has paid for 2 tanks and tons of live stock.

Thanks everyone !

Very pretty squamosa, I have one that is a little over a year old (in my system) and it has grown over 7 inches during that time. It is now 12in. and growing still!!

I had no idea these guys grew so quickly. I'll just have to move the plate coral to a different spot. Thanks so much for the info.
