Hi,

I have been reading forums here and everyone is recommending to wait until your tank is matured before adding a clam. My friend gave me a baby maxima clam and it's doing well in my aquarium. I just want to ask if there is something special I can do for this clam incase if something happens to it. Can I use suppliments and if I can can you recommend one?

The clam is 1 1/2 inch big. Tank is 55 gallons and the lights im using is the sunlight tek with 4 bulbs(2 1400k and 2 actinics).

Nitrate is 20
nitrite 0
ph 8.4

quite a few people feel that if the clam is below 3 inches you need to feed it live phyto. i'm not to knowledgeable about the t5 24w lighting you are useing. alot of people say it can be done. if it came from a high light tank you might want to keep it really high in yours. do you dose calcium?? good luck

I dose kalkwasser. I actually have the high output t5 tek. It should be ok as it produces a par of 5000 per lamp. I just want to make sure the clams will be fine as im buying three morethis wednesday
