Hey guys.

Theres a really good article in Reef Keeping this month on problems with Tridacnid clams.. GOOD reading if you have, or want clams...

http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-09/jf/index.php

I had a few clams about 4 years ago. Actually 2 clams.. Then I added another. I had a nice deresa and a baby maxima. Both clams growing fast and thriveing untill I added a third deresa wich had rice snails. I fought them for months till the snails finally won and killed all clams in my tank. Huge bummer. Especially since I was having such success with a tiny maxima. The article link details some treatments that may have saved my clams.

Looking for a maxima and crocea currently. ;)

Too bad I didn't see this article a year ago. This would definitely have save my clams as well. Nice find Robert.

great read, my friend just lost a maxima to pinched mantle, this would have been helpful.. i also heard that yellow coris wrasses also eat pyrimidal snails (in addition to the red and green coris wrasses), is this true? yellow coris doesn't seem to get as big, thats why i ask..

i put in a six-line for preventive bug control last year, but they are aggressive so i took them out and am looking for something else for natural control of predatory inverts that are potentially lurking in my tanks..
