Hi all, I want to have a tank with clams and maybe some fish only.
anyone have any suggestions? I think I will need a shallow tank, ( so I donot have to put them on rocks) what is a good deepth for this and since it will be a shallow tank, do I need MH light or T5 will be good enough?chiller? skimmer? With MH would 150w be enough or should I go 250w or higher?
Thanks
David

how many gallons are you thinking? what kind of clams? T5 lighting is plenty for all clams. chiller depends on your tank lights, pumps, room tempature. The chiller is something you will have to find out when the tank is set up. Skimmer depends on bioload from fish and coral.

The minimum recommended lighting requirement for a healthy Crocea is under a 150 watt metal halide of a reliable 14k bulb at a maximum depth of 20 inches, preferably less

I copy'd this from this thread, read it and it should answer your lighting questions:
