clam placement and bysal threads

Actually since I posted he has shifted a few times, laying down new threads each time. He is now kinda leaning but the mantle is still facing toward the light. Is it alright for them to be tilted and/or will he just right himself when he finds a good position?
thanks

is fine for them to be tilted they will right themselves up as they stick more threads

When I got my clam (crocea) he was attached to a small snail shell, so I assumed he would not attach to something else.

Well, I placed him on my sand bed (12 inch deep tank, 20k xm 150 watt HQI about 8 inches above + 65 watt powercompact suplementation now...) and now he has attached to the bottom of my tank! I was going to move him up on the rocks, but i couldnt now!

So to cut to the chase... I have basically the same question salty asked... Is it ok to leave him where he is?

I have also seen him "pulse".... which almost looked like he was trying to jump... but idunno...

Is my clam ok where he is???

if your clam is fine and is happy, leave it alone, dont try and fix what is not broken.

yes, so just leave him alone unless he is moving on his own then you can give him a helping hand in finding a spot where he will be happy.
