Clam Placement Question

I've had my 5" Crocea Clam sitting on the Sandbed attached to a small rock for about 5 months now. It's doing fine, but ends up sitting on its side in the sand. Dont they prefer to sit up straight to take in the maximum amount of light? Is there any problem with the mantle sitting in the sand when it lays on its side.
I could repostion it and push it into the sand better to make it sit straight.

It's sitting under a 250W 10K AB DE Bulb.

Any thoughts
Thanks

Have you checked to see if there is something stressing it out near its foot, that may be causing it to flop over?

Your lighting should be fine ( though you dont say how deep your tank is )

Its a bad idea to force a clam to stay in a certain position, best thing to do is try to find a place it seems happier. When you find a spot it is comfortable being in, the flopping over should stop.
