Clam Question

I have deresa that the sides of the shell seem like they are coming apart. its like the cartilidge that holds it together is missing. you can hold both sides of the shells and move them back and forth. it just feels "loose"

i've had it over a year now it looks healthy other than that. it reacts to light, opens good not gapping. just curious if anyone else has seen this.

calc. 450

nitrates 1ppm

dkh 9

i also have 2 other clams that are doing fine. 1 maxima and a crocea. all under 6 54watt t5s.

Hum, a live healthy clam that has become "unglued." Don't think you can do much in here, other than maintaining good water parameters.

Did you notice cartilage damage when clam was acquired? Is clam currently attached (do not disturb if so)? If not, can you carefully confirm the two halves are separate at bottom?

Its an ora i've had it well over a year. it is attached now, the halves are not completely detached but they are close to it. the thing i don't understand is its seems heathly other than that. i reacts well when you move your hand over the light. no gapping just a mystery i guess.
