Clam questions

What is the smallest tank for a clam and how are they aquacultured. Is it asexual. I was thinking of getting one and am not sure if my tank is right for one.

THe first consideration is lighting. Maxima and crocea clams need metal halide lights. Derasa and squamosa can get away with strong VHO or T5 lights, etc.

The smallest clam I would do would be a maxima in a 10-15 gallon with no less than a 70w metal halide bulb.

What is your setup?

PC lights do not usually have the PAR to keep clams. I've seen people fail time and time again with 10-15+ watts per gallon of PCs. Watts per gallon is also not a very reliable way of measuring light intensity. The corals/clams just care about PAR and how far it penetrates the water

Photosythetically available radiation, basically the radiation (good stuff) available for the zooxanthalle (algae) in their tissues to utilize.
