Clam Spawning Good or Bad?

Does this mean that I am doing something right or something wrong. It is a Crocea that has been in my tank for about 2 weeks. Before that it was at my work (LFS) for a good 3 months. It is in my 55gal reef about halfway up under 2x250 de MH. I use a calcium reactor that maintains alk at a stable 10 dkh
ph 8.3, ato with kalk to maintain ph,
temp stable 80.1,
no nitrates
Salinity 1.025
Calcium a little high at 500

Nothing changed today except two blown fuses shutting down the tank for a bit. All perameters remain stable.


Is the spawn because of stress or just a randy clam?

most of the time its stress. i would make sure your skimmer is clean and running top notch, do i water change and add some carbon

Like Chris said above, most spawning is triggered by some sort of stress.

everything seems to have calmed down. I assume that the stress was from the multiple power outages, from tripped breakers. The skimmer went crazy (made sure it was in tip top shape when I saw the spawning, and set to wet skim). Clam, and everything looked great today. Thankfully the other clams in my tank are too young to spawn so it did not trigger any mass spawning.
