Clam tank: Better viewing for true color?

Hi folks... as much a I like my 100g reef tank, my clams are hard to view. They have brilliant colors when seen from the top, but with a canopy on top it's hard to get that viewing angle. whn seen through the front class, they seem to lose color. The stunning teal crocea clams look purple; the very large and stunning deresa looks quite average.

Is there anything that I can do to enhance viewing? Tank is 5' wide, 20 deep and 18" front to back. Lighting is 2x250 radium 20K on Ice Cap ballasts....tanks!

I have seen tanks specifically designed for viewing clams...the front is bent backwards at an angle, so that you can view the clams from almost directly overhead (best colors this way). Try www.clamsdirect.com. I don't know if Barry still sells them, but he can probably tell you where to get one if he doesn't.

Try moving the clam horizontally, you will see better colors this way. It is hard trying to get one to stay in his place though
