Hello
I have had a divers den dersa clam in my 225gallon reef for about 6 weeks now and it had been doing great, no signs of trouble. This week, a friend called me and said that his tank had crashed and needed a place to house a couple of his large clams, a 12-16inch and 6inch crocea clam. I said no problem and put them in last night. Today, my dersas shell is open, but the clam has retracted inside and looks like it has pulled away from where it was attached at the top of the shell...it definatley looks like it will be dead soon. Do clams have any kind of chemical warfare? I haven't seen any pests on his clams, but you would think they would have killed his clams as he has had them for a long time. Any ideas on what happened?
Thanks
